Anzac Day

Home Hill SHS has continued its strong support for the Anzac movement in 2016. The school honoured our servicemen and women, both past and present, in a student-led service on Friday 22 April. Among invited guests were Warrant Officer Class Two Terry Whitwam, Alan Petersen (Home Hill RSL), Herb Lennox (Home Hill RSL) and Deputy Mayor, Councillor John Woods. School Captains Andi Gelling and Sam Marano laid a wreath in the school’s memorial garden before the assembled students. Students also laid red poppies and a morning tea was held in the Resource Centre where an extensive memorial display was on show.

On Anzac Day, students and teachers joined the Dawn Service, the Church Service and the Gunfire Breakfast. Following these moving commemorations, a large number of the school body joined the community march, with our senior students once again serving as flagbearers.
