Anzac Day

This year’s Anzac Day commemorations were of special significance, as 100 years have passed since the first landings of Australian and New Zealand troops at Anzac Cove. Our students acknowledged this milestone by leading a special ceremony at the school on Friday, remembering the sacrifices of our service men and women.

Then on Saturday, nearly a third of all Home Hill SHS students, a large number of staff and many of our families represented the school at the Anzac Day Dawn, Cemetery and Church services and RSL Gunfire breakfast, as well as the march where a number of senior students were selected as flag bearers.

Our students represented the school and wider community with distinction and continue to uphold the memories and values of the Anzac tradition.

Please also take the time to visit the amazing Anzac Day display in the Library created by our talented library staff along with some student helpers and friends. Reading the messages and viewing the pictures and artefacts is very thought-provoking and emotion-stirring, in this, the 100th Anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli.

Lest we Forget...
