LPC Week

Bryony Williams enjoyed work experience at McCathies Real Estate

Home Hill High’s students have enjoyed a jam-packed 3rd term, culminating in LPC Week. This week is unique to Home Hill High. Our students have embarked on programs that reinforce the school’s core values of Learning, Performance and Citizenship.

The year 8s appreciated an alternative program, extending their curriculum with programs that included a Maths and Science challenge, La Luna Circus workshop, tabloid sports, an excursion to the movies and the ever-popular Year 8 BBQ, where parents and carers are the guests of their students.

The year 9s embarked on the Year 9 Camp at Terrible Creek. This camp is an integral part of the spirit of Home Hill High, with the students coming away with life-long memories.

The year 10s, 11s and some 12s have participated in the Work Experience program, where students sample possible future careers and discover what it’s like to be out in the “real world”.

The rest of the year 12s have travelled down south on their Civics Citizenship and Physical Education Tour. Students visit the snow fields perfecting their skiing techniques and visit the nation’s capital exploring such icons as Parliament House, the War Memorial and the Australian Institute of Sport. The group then moved on to Sydney where they visited Taronga Zoo and attended an NRL final before flying home.

After such a busy week, it only appropriate that we all have two weeks off! We hope everyone enjoys the Spring break and we will see you back at school on Tuesday 7 October.
