Relay for Life

15-16 June saw a large number of year 11 and 12 students from Home Hill SHS line up for the Burdekin Relay for Life. The year 11 students in particular were abuzz with excitement at the unknown challenge ahead of them. Most of the year 12s, however, understood the difficulties that would be faced over the next 18 hours. All of our students and supervising staff battled through a very cold night with little or no sleep. However there would be no complaining as the students understood the reason for the Relay for Life and walked in support and memory of those who have the toughest battle, those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
Home Hill can be justifiably proud of their efforts, raising a substantial amount of money for the Caner Council and easily being the biggest contingent at the Relay. Well done to Legs 11 and 12 Sharp and all the staff that made the event a memorable one, in particular Miss Tramayne Horan who has organized the school teams for the past four years.
