Smart Skills
In week 2 of term 3, year 11 and 12 Hospitality students will report to the Bridge Restaurant at 8.20am from Monday to Friday to complete a restaurant course with private provider ‘Smart Skill Developing People’.
Students will be exposed to the intricacies of restaurant service, including taking reservations, planning and preparation for service. Also clothing tables and napkin folding, types of table settings, positioning of glassware and centre pieces, beverage styles, sequence of service, food and beverage skills, clearing and presenting bills and types of customers.
At the completion of this course, students will gain competency with SITHFAB003A “Serve Food and Beverage to Customers”, one of the units of the Certificate I in Hospitality.
Thursday evening, the Bridge Restaurant will be hosting a “Roast Night” for $17 commencing at 6.30pm. Our students will be using the practical skills they have learned during the week to serve guests. All parents, teachers, friends and staff are invited to enjoy the 3 course meal served by our hospitality students.
