Home Hill High School has an active and progressive P&C.

Executive

President: Mr Richard Wall

Vice-President: Ms Isodia Loizou

Treasurer: Mrs Christine Grimbaldeston

Secretary: Mrs Linda Attard

Meetings

This Association meets at the school on the second Tuesday of the month, at 7.45pm in the staff common room (Office block). Parents are reminded in the monthly newsletter which precedes these meetings by a few days.

The school offers input sessions each meeting. Education matters of particular interest are introduced by staff and/or parents and comments or questions are sought.

Multi-Purpose Shelter

Home Hill SHS is very excited to announce that the building of the school’s Multi-Purpose Shelter is about to begin with building expected to be finished before the end of the year. Funding assistance of $320,000 was initially granted for the Multi-Purpose Shelter project approved under the Smart Schools Subsidy (SSS) Scheme 2016-17 program and funded by the Queensland Government’s Significant Regional Infrastructure Projects Program (SRIPP). A further $650,000 was then approved following an open tender process that resulted in a significant increase to the construction costs required to build the facility. That resulted in a total of $970,000. Further money from Federal Government and P & C fundraising will allow us to build the hall which has a total cost of just over $1.3 million.

It has taken a long time and every member of the community who has supported the school to achieve this funding should be congratulated, especially those in the P &C over recent years who can be very proud of their efforts. All those who assisted with fundraising, either by donating to the building fund, donating prizes, buying tickets, attending the annual fete and other fundraising efforts over many years, should feel proud that they played a part in getting us this MPS. Thank-you. Our students can’t wait!

Fete

The annual Home Hill HSH Fete is the biggest fundraiser for the P&C and is strongly supported by the Burdekin and school communities.
