DeadlyScience Brings Geology, Culture and Learning to Life
Learning came to life for our Year 7 and 8 students during an engaging Geology: Sand, Ochre and Culture session delivered through the DeadlyScience program on Thursday, 19 February.
This powerful learning experience brought together First Nations knowledge and Earth science, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the land beneath their feet.
Students explored the cultural and scientific significance of sand and ochre, participated in meaningful hands-on activities, and discovered how culture and science work together as powerful ways of knowing.
The session also introduced students to exciting future pathways in environmental science, land management and related fields.
Most importantly, our students were fully engaged, curious and inspired. It was wonderful to see them learning with such enthusiasm and respect.
Opportunities like this ignite curiosity, celebrate First Nations knowledge and connect classroom learning with the real world.
