The Youth Health Nurse works with the school community on issues that may affect the health and wellbeing of young people and the school community as a whole. Students, parents and staff can speak to Sue-Ann confidentially about health issues that may be concerning them.
The Youth Health Nurse can provide information to students on a range of issues including:
healthy eating and physical activity
feeling unhappy or stressed
feeling anxious or depressed
relationship problems with family or peers
puberty and sexual health
smoking, alcohol and other drugs
sun awareness
The Youth Health Nurse does not provide:
Sue-Ann is at Home Hill State High School every Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Teachers and parents can refer students to Sue-Ann when necessary. Students can make appointments to see Sue-Ann in class time or during the lunch breaks.
