For those of you who don‘t know me, the students know me as Kellie. I am delighted and very excited to fill the role of YSC this year.
YSC provides the following services:
Assisting young people to develop social and personal skills for successful community living.
Encourage and support community services to be responsive to the needs of students and their families
Develop networks within schools, TAFE, community organisations and the broader community that contribute to supportive school and TAFE environments.
Provide support to at-risk students in Years 10 to 12 to remain engaged with their education and to enhance their opportunities for further education and sustainable future employment.
I do work in the office in the Administration team, but am also doing the YSC role daily. Appointments can be made by phone or at the office. I am able to meet with both students and parents/carers to assist and can do a home visit if that is more convenient.
I look forward to my new role and I am open to suggestions and ideas.
My motto is a problem shared is a problem halved.
