They are to also co-ordinate and assist PE Staff with the running of carnivals.
This year's guest speaker was Karrie Webb. Ms Webb was unable to attend in person, but generously took time out of her busy life to record a special video message for our students. Karrie Webb AO is an Australian professional golfer born in Ayr. She plays mainly on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and also on the ALPG Tour in Australia. She is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. She has 41 wins on the LPGA Tour, more than any other active player.
We appreciate that Karrie took the time to address our students in her inspirational video presentation.
This year we also had the pleasure of one of our students being presented with the Corrie Knight award. This Prestigious award is only given to students who make NQ selections for softball every year of their high school journey. Kaitlin Daley was one of only 6 in Queensland to receive the honour. A huge thank you to Corrie Knight for supplying a video message for us to show.
We were also fortunate to have Mr Doug Chappell, who has assisted the school with all things Rugby League for many years, present awards to the four students that he saw stand out in competition this year. Kaitlin Daley, John Schonenberg, PJ Sam and Dean Kaminski were honoured with these awards.
A big thanks as always to the various people who helped on the night and in its preparation, especially the year 12 House Captains and year 11 student Heidi Luhrs who all did a fantastic job with speeches and trophy organisation. Well done to all students who received awards on the night and thank you for your efforts in sport this year.
