The Annual Interhouse Athletics Carnival was held on Thursday 22and Friday 23 June.
After the house captains fired up their team spirit at lunchtime on Thursday, the 800m races were run, followed by the “Spirit Day" ball games. It was wonderful to see so many participants trying their hardest for their house. Who will win the Carol Coutts team spirit award at Sports Awards this year?
The majority of events were held on Friday and with excellent participation and sportsmanship.
At the end of the day, Upstart were victorious followed by Beachmount in second, with Inkerman coming in third. Upstart captain Elayna Arboit proudly accepted the trophy on behalf of her house. Well done to Upstart, your house's fantastic participation is the reason you were victorious!
Congratulations to all Houses for the way they participated throughout the carnival and the great sportsmanship shown by all the competitors. Many thanks to the year 12s who helped Ms Horan set up, staff, students and parents who assisted on the day.
There was only one record affected at the 2023 carnival, with Jemma Oldtich equalling with Brianne Rossato's 2008 record in the U13 girls 1500m with a time of 5:30.53.
