Friday 20 August, the BSS Athletics Carnival was held at Ayr SHS hosted by Burdekin Catholic High – CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved. Behaviour was excellent and the amount of participation was outstanding.
The final results were brilliant and a credit to all of our competitors. Home Hill placed third, keeping ASHS and BCHS on their toes all day. Home Hill's efforts saw us secure 2nd place in the aggregate division; this is the number of points awarded on the day divided by the number of students enrolled. So well done to all our competitors for being a part of this achievement. Despite an impressive number of HHSHS age champions, BCHS proved too strong, winning overall.
Thanks also to our parent supporters, the Senior students, who, if they weren't competing, were chasing up athletes for their events, supporting and wearing Crusher the Croc and a huge shout out to the staff from all schools, without whom this wouldn't have been possible. Congratulations on your effort and behaviour, you are a credit to the school!
